The Oman Botanic Garden is a new world-class development under the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Oman, celebrating the unique plants, landscapes and cultural traditions of Oman. Located just outside of Muscat, Oman, near the Al Khoudh village, the gardens are situated on a 430 hectare protected natural area, surrounded by the Northern Mountains of Oman. The gardens showcase the native plant species of Oman in a series of carefully created, naturalistic habitats from the dry deserts to the rich monsoon cloud forests.

HRA (in partnership with Transsolar; www.transsolar.ie) were commissioned through 2013-2013 to complete a peer review of the 2 nr biome projects within the park. as initially proposed by masterplan. HRA established the appropriate targets for a sustainable building design that would recreate the appropriate abiotic conditions for the plants.

This has since been enacted in a built project by Grimshaw and Partner Architects which is slated to open in 2026.
