    Competition 1st Prize 2023

Donauwörth is is a town and the capital of the Donau-Ries district in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. It is said to have been founded by two fishermen where the rivers Danube (Donau) and Wörnitz meet. The city is part of the scenic route called "Romantische Straße" . The city is situated between Munich and Nuremberg, 46 km north of Augsburg.

The concept for the new connection from the west on the Promenade/Jennisgasse/Schneegarten and the destination point on Sternschanzenstrasse at the entrance to the Alfred Delp district is to create a homogeneous, high-quality, low-barrier and comfortable foot and cycle path connection between the Donauwörther and the Parkstadt on the Schellenberg.

In addition to the height difference of 70 meters, the four-lane B2 has to be overcome. An elegantly curved landscape path that is integrated into the topography, leads up the Kalvarienberg and over the B2 to the Sternschanze and the start of the new Alfred Delp quarter of the Parkstadt Donauwörth.
