New Entrance and Biome, Zoo Amiens

Amiens Zoo is a small zoo close to the city centre of Amiens City. This extension will relocate the main zoo entrance and re-define the relationship of the zoological gardens with the city, as well as create a new African Plains experience with giraffes and other herbivores.

The design includes a smaller tropical biome for hippopotomus and crocodiles.

All the front of house and back of house entrance functions are grouped under a single roof sculpted to make a series of external spaces.

This completion entry was prepared in collaboration with Urban Agency Architects and received second place.
